Instructor Sheri Killam will be offer this drop-in class all skill levels.  Bring a mat & enjoy a relaxing routine.  $5 for members, $7-10 for non-members.


COMMUNITY GARDEN MEETING

Olio will be converting their back lot into downtown Victoria's only community garden - and we need lots of help.  Come with ideas and enjoy some refreshements.


SCREEN PRINTING INTENSIVE
WEDNESDAY, SEPT 1st
6:30pm • 2.5 hours/week • $95.00

This hands-on course will illuminate the steps between a great idea and a well printed finished product – from file preparing to exposing screens, to print registration, to the uses and eff ects of different inks, chemicals, substrates and garments.

We are hugely excited to invite all members, current and future, to the Olio Artists & Workers Cooperative Annual General Meeting, Thursday September 16th at 7pm!  While, for many, the thought of an AGM isn't nearly exciting enough to warrant an exclamation mark, Olio's will be a productive and spirited celebration of what we've managed to accomplish as a group so far and a wonderful chance to plan some big things for the coming year.  We'll have some food & drink, meet some folks, discuss, vote from time to time... you should come!  No need to RSVP.  Email us if you are a current member who would like to run for the board, have anything added to the agenda, or if you would like a copy of our bylaws.

ROCKY VOTOLATO AT OLIO

Seattle musician and Barsuk recording artist Rocky Votolato is a soft-spoken, very kind, very hard-working father of two, born in rural Texas and raised in the Pacific Northwest indie scene (where he fronted the acclaimed rock band Waxwing). In his decade-plus life as a songwriter and musician he has sought to articulate something essential about life, writing songs that seem to have been scratched into a boxcar wall by a worn-out and lonesome ghost. His gravelly, sandpaper smooth voice and introspective lyrics mark him as that most rare of punk-rocker-turned-acoustic-troubadours: Votolato writes graceful, understated, human, unpretentious songs, demonstrating that simplicity is still a viable option for accomplished songwriters.
