A special screenprinting course for those with an inkling for Xmas crafts! This special intensive will experiment with some different print processes such as discharge printing, metallic foil/flock printing, ceramic glaze printing and water or oil based inks. Participants will learn each stage of the process, then apply their ...knowledge to their own project – come with an idea and leave with a thorough knowledge of screenprinting and your own series of cards, tiles, prints, shirts, wood prints, pillow cases, etc. in time for the holidays.

All printing materials and select specialty inks and substrates will be supplied. Highly recommended for printers of any level, from the comfortable to the curious. No experience needed . Begins Tuesday, November 23rd and continues November 30th, December 7th and 14th.

Olio are very excited to be presenting at Pecha Kucha next Thursday.  We'll be designing and printing a project, or projects, during a 20 hour period.  We'll be photograping hourly updates for the 20 necessary slides and digesting the hour's experience into the accompanying 20 second dialogue.  Should be lots of fun.  Tickets are available now.

We were charged with designing a poster for a UVic Movember awareness campaign, with the hopes of promoting the mo' as much as prostate cancer awareness.  Given some healthy license, we designed and printed these attractive awareness posters on reflective acetate.  We wanted to give the well kempt, modern on-looker a glance at what a moustache might offer him (or her).  Then, WHAMO! A sound zinger about prostate cancer!  We came up with 6 cheeky lines, two of which are pictured above.  And while it's not the most lofty of prizes for an artist, I am excited to see these puppies above urinals across campus.  Leep an eye out.
